Have you met someone and found the person so attractive in their well being ? You heard of the notion beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder . But One thing holds firm is that self confidence and personal image goes hand in hand.

Main concept we are tapping here is Personal branding.
How does it develop ?
Like any good marketing plan, you must first began by understanding your true self. Remember ,you are once in a lifetime never to be heard original personality. There will never be anyone else quite like you.
You know for what you stand for best? Who shape your beliefs?
Here do an exercise of jotting down your best phrases and quotes that describe your unique values, vision purpose and passion. Take some time to discover your strengths , weaknesses and hidden talents. Ask yourself what impacts you the most and what drives you.

Reality is just an illusion in the making but a strong one. Albert Einstein . It is imperative that you be aware of how you are communicating yourself to those around you. In this area, you will need to know your attributes and how others perceive you as an individual and accept the way you are.
Develop a focus group comprising close friends , colleagues and family members to ask , collate responses and consolidate their perceptions about you.

For example, are you seen as reliable , trustworthy or adventurous with a natural instinct for business ?

Position
You must know your target audience and business or job competitors . How can you stand out unless you know whom you are standing with ?
Your pillar of strength should be from within yourself and God and drawn from your support group pillars. When people see your name or face consistently over a period of time , they will assume that you have something special and that you must be successful. Having your own brand keeps you visible within the marketplace as it sends out a clear message about you that makes you worth contacting.
What position do you deem worth positioning for with your strengths right now?

Performance
Establish yourself as an expert in your filed because expertise can bring you increased recognition , allowing you to position yourself well in the hearts and minds of your target audience.
Get good testimonials from your satisfied customers. Be known in your industry. Nothing beats faster than the word of mouth reference much better than the written testimonial. Keep track of your goals and mission statement and tagline.
Seek out new and challenging assignments that will build your brand. Write articles to showcase your knowledge and get them published or , better still , give speeches and presentation to share your expertise and achievements.

Promote

You can have an amazing brand , but if no one knows about it , you will not go ahead.
Nothing in marketing is more powerful than a promotion tool called word of mouth. When your network of friends , colleagues , clients and customers say about your brand is what the market will ultimately gauge as the value of the brand.
If you do not have a personal website , now is the time to buy a domain and let the world know about it. Take your personal image seriously because your appearance is the packaging of your own brand. Remember you are the product , and your packaging will either attract or detract people from your product.

Planning & Execution
Make an appointment with yourself at least twice a year to re-evaluate your personal brand statement .
Also , obtain honest and helpful feedback from your focus group on your brand performance , value and growth . There will always be competing brands ready to fill in any gap that you leave, so you must work consistently to close the gap.

The great thing about personal branding is that it works for everyone, no matter what business sector you are in or whether you own a start-up or an established company.

Generally , people work with you for three main reasons :
- they know you
- they like your character or reputation
- you create value

when you know yourself , what you offer and what makes you unique , your business or career will progress more effectively.

Something interesting on cnn/oprah.com.

'will u marry me' is not the only question to ask.

Question 1: What percentage of our income are we prepared to spend to purchase and maintain our home on a monthly or annual basis?

Question 2: Who is responsible for keeping our house and yard cared for and organized? Are we different in our needs for cleanliness and organization?

Question 3: How much money do we earn together? Now? In one year? In five years? Ten? Who is responsible for which portion? Now? In one year? Five? Ten?

Question 4: What is our ultimate financial goal regarding annual income, and when do we anticipate achieving it? By what means and through what efforts?

Question 5: What are our categories of expense (rent, clothing, insurance, travel)? How much do we spend monthly, annually, in each category? How much do we want to be able to spend?

Question 6: How much time will each of us spend at work, and during what hours? Do we begin work early? Will we prefer to work into the evening?

Question 7: If one of us doesn't want to work, under what circumstances, if any, would that be okay?

Question 8: How ambitious are you? Are we comfortable with the other's level of ambition?

Question 9: Am I comfortable giving and receiving love sexually? In sex, does my partner feel my love for him or her?

Question 10: Are we satisfied with the frequency of our lovemaking? How do we cope when our desire levels are unmatched? A little? A lot? For a night? A week? A month? A year? More?

Question 11: Do we eat meals together? Which ones? Who is responsible for the food shopping? Who prepares the meals? Who cleans up afterward?

Question 12: Is each of us happy with the other's approach to health? Does one have habits or tendencies that concern the other (e.g., smoking, excessive dieting, poor diet)?

Question 13: What place does the other's family play in our family life? How often do we visit or socialize together? If we have out-of-town relatives, will we ask them to visit us for extended periods? How often?

Question 14: If we have children, what kind of relationship do we hope our parents will have with their grandchildren? How much time will they spend together?

Question 15: Will we have children? If so, when? How many? How important is having children to each of us?

Question 16: How will having a child change the way we live now? Will we want to take time off from work, or work a reduced schedule? For how long? Will we need to rethink who is responsible for housekeeping?

Question 17: Are we satisfied with the quality and quantity of friends we currently have? Would we like to be more involved socially? Are we overwhelmed socially and need to cut back on such commitments?

Question 18: What are my partner's needs for cultivating or maintaining friendships outside our relationship? Is it easy for me to support those needs, or do they bother me in any way?

Question 19: Do we share a religion? Do we belong to a church, synagogue, mosque or temple? More than one? If not, would our relationship benefit from such an affiliation?

Question 20: Does one of us have an individual spiritual practice? Is the practice and the time devoted to it acceptable to the other? Does each partner understand and respect the other's choices?

The other day I was chatting with my colleague and she was sharing how realistic her dating experience is . This was groomed from both parties of a financial stature and age -30s , they both understand each other needs, the guy pays for those expensive restaurants while my girl colleague offers to pay for those cheaper restaurants.

While I don't really agree footing the bill so much ,it comes to a certain extent ,the apparent reality are we need to have a realistic mind in whatever we do .That our future husbands must have the financial capability of owning enough to sustain the lifestyle of both parties. Necessities such as a house , car of their taste. As we grew older, puppy love just fades away, falling love just does not fit the quantum .Compatibility comes to a point of building love and life together.

Expectations, ambitions ,social affiliations and activities that bond both together,
These are things that kept running over once the word pops up.

We cannot live on LOVE , Fresh Air and SUNSHINE.The reality of living love in the CITY. Thats the reality of the questions above!

Love like you never been hurt before,

Dance as if no one is watching,

sing like there is no one hearing,

work like you never needed the money,

Live to the fullest as it today is your last day on earth.

Alfred D. Suja

This is a nice poem describing on the word GUIDANCE. It reminds me of interpretative dance and spirit filled dancing where you let the HOLY SPIRIT do its work in you.
It reminds me that it takes both to make it one unified action with one of them leading the way.

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.
If God has done anything for you in your life,
please share this message with someone else.
Interceding in prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards;
so let's continue to pray for one another.
And I Pray You Are Blessed In The Dance !

Here is a candid video I took of Mr. Polt in action.
The Viennese Waltz

Enjoy the Video.

SWORD & STORK DANCE

Enjoy!

Here is a clip from Hwang Jiny Korean Series of sword and stork dance. Hwang Jiny is the famous Gisaeng in the early 16th century of the Joseon era dance who is the greatest female poet, musician and dancer at her time. She was born at a time where there is a social hierarchy where noble people differs from the commoner.

She was adopted to the temple and stumble into a dance performance. She came across a dance performance and started to fall in love in dancing and was persuaded by the Gisaeng head lady to dance with the Gisaeng house where her mother originates . This story is no different from any other series which have a love story twist where Hwang Jiny is being pursued by noblemen and ministers. Ha Ji won potrays the character well with her sensual dance touch and her artistry.
She being an eloquent woman with words of poetry has capture much of the gist of the movie of being a woman who went through trials and tribulations in the 16th century.

Her role as a Gisaeng is to entertain noblemen with her artistry and music. She goes through trials and tribulations and she deals with them with quite an seeping anger and stubbornness with intellect and tactfulness.

A Gisaeng in the Korean era is known to be an artist and a whore which sell their virginity to the highest bidder in hopes for wealth and glory as a Gisaeng artist.
The Hanbok showcase is so breath-taking and luxurious to taste compare to other Korean series I have encountered. As 1million won budget has been invested into this production just for the wardrobe itself is a great testament to this traditional TV series in the making.

Summary of the clip

Dance review

Amazingly wonderful watching the video
Hwang Jiny is dancing in a group dance and her dance members had contemplate rebuke and betrayal against her by changing their dance formation and leaving her stunt and dumbfounded. Then she started to dance the sword dance to her dance teacher amazement and her opponent astounding dismay. There were like commotion between the dance teachers on who taught her the routine. To which her dance teacher replied , her first love inspired her. There is a glimpse of her younger days dancing to him.

Her blind mother question her musician what had happened and he replied she dropped her musical instrument and started to dance another routine again.

This is a woman fested Gisaeng sobby dance series with meaningful poetry and life enriching quotes . So If you like Korean movies , then this traditional series is for you.

Check out this video. It's so hilarious! The choreographer must surely be a dodge tap dancer. Mixing tap dancing with bar top dancing ain't gonna work well except if you mix belly dancing with bar top dancing. Very Not sexy , a bit clumsy and funny looking at tap dancers which is a very technical leg dance became an eluding sex position parade with a tap ! Ouch! See The difference in Tap dancing.

With such a hot day today, its a wonder I have been pondering on food during my lunch .Here is the famous Hong KOng Beef XO claypot rice . I just cannot get enough of it just by looking it steaming hot , when I was in Hong Kong I visited this famous claypot stall like 3 times before I headed back to Kuala Lumpur.Unlike the typical Claypot chicken rice here, they are using high grade Thai Fragrant rice with the Royal Elephant brand. Its a total different grade compare to those Thai fragrant rice imported here. My friend who came back from Thailand just got to buy back a small pack.

Gunung Brinchang view

It's been some time since I posted. Here is my previous trip to Cameron Highland's Gunung Irau. Camping there was unpleasant as I have not been camping for some time ,Foolishly , I did not bring enough mat for my bed base just a sleeping bag , ended up freezing cold at night. stupid!
We trek in the early morning for 4 hours and 5 hours trek out . It was gruesomely tiring but the journey was interesting.

The last time i went camping was as a marshall for Nomad Adventure in Kuala Kubu Bharu. My girl friend was participating in the adventure race and we were supposed to coordinate admin and technical task for the bridge rope climb. Totally cool experience , I was stationed near a waterfall where the adventure teams have to swim under the water stream in total darkness to search for fluorescent bottles. Unforgettable indeed.

I was stamp chopping the adventure team's yellow passport. There is this french guy who showed me his "ham choy passport" to me to my laughter's content. I still remember him and his family during his farewell party where he served us french odd sosages and I just loved the sweet mud cake to this day , He is a great testament to living life to the fullest . He is now ,in some exotic place called Bulgaria teaching.

Have a good day!

CHINESE NEW YEAR SO QUIET

This Chinese New Year is so quiet , the rows of neighbourhood seem deserted from Chinese. The sounds of firecracker is so few and diminishing , not much activity.
Pak!! paK ! Pok!

Even the sight of Chinese girls wearing cheongsam and qi pao are few.

Sin to LIft Your Spirits Up

If you have been wondering what I do with part of my time, I am gonna spill the beans . I have been splurging myself with sin these days. Not sexual sin , but the sin to see people embrace in dancing.I joined the KL Tango Club .

I am proudly gonna introduce you to the world of Tango. This suave dance has really entice me an seeing them dance so gracefullly made me wanna follow suit. After Learning basics, you can really do it free style.

Styles vary in Tango: Argentine, French, Gaucho and International. Still, Tango has become one of our American 'Standards' regardless of its origin. The Americanized version is a combination of the best parts of each. The principals involved are the same for any good dancing. First, the dance must fit the music. Second, it must contain the basic characteristic that sets it apart from other dances. Third, it must be comfortable and pleasing to do.

Phrasing is an important part of Tango. Most Tango music phrased to 16 or 32 beats of music. Tango music is like a story. It contains paragraphs (Major phrases); sentences (Minor phrases); and the period at the end of the sentence is the Tango close.

For exhibition dancing, a Tango dancer must develop a strong connection with the music, the dance and the audience. The audience can only feel this connection if the performer feels and projects this feeling. So it is when dancing for your own pleasure -- and your partner's!

"The Tango is the easiest dance. If you make a mistake and get tangled up, you just Tango on." (Al Pacino in "The Scent of a Woman.") Movies that featured Tango dancing include "The Scent of a Woman", Madonna's "Evita" and "True Lies" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.
They hold it at Frangipani or Little Havana on Wednesday nights for Beginners and on Sundays for advanced and Intermediate Class. This has been featured in THE STAR. The Tangueras Instructor is none other than Marguerite Brodie. You can email her at marguerite.brodie@gmail.com for more details . Talking about details. They are gonna start a new class with Runa Baagoe, a fine lady with a toes to lift and lead you.
I found her grace profound and really uplifting dancing with her.

Sometimes life throws you in situations that you seem you can't handle but actually it is a path leading to your destiny no matter how difficult you feel it is , you will some how feel the moment not to regress and felt its alright, you wipe away the tears and start to smile and move forward. Living in Malaysia do has its share of being in a rat race like Singapore, where expectation is high , everyone is rushing to get material stuff , to succeed, to have a family , to retire and to travel around the world. But somehow , time just stop a second , and I found ephiphany that seems indescribable .

here is an excerpt from a forwarded email i received. Enjoy reading.

At Swedish company, Volvo, any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule.

Globalize processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results. Therefore, we have come to posses a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold x quantity of meetings and work with a slowdown scheme.

At the end, this always yields better results.

Said in another words:
1. Sweden is smaller than Thailand
2. Sweden has 2 million inhabitants (8% from Malaysian Total Population).
3. Stockholm has 500,000 people.
4. Volvo, Scania, SAAB, Ericsson, Electrolux, are some of its renowned companies. Volvo supplies to NASA.

The first time I was in Sweden , one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their car to work). The first day, I didn't say anything, either the second or third. One morning I asked, "Do you have a fixed parking space? I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot." To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, and whoever gets in late will be late and need a place closer to the door. Don't you think?" Can you imagine my face?

Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe named Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart: the spirit of Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week.

Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fueled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the "quality of being". French people, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity been driven up by 20%. This slow attitude has brought forth the US 's attention, pupils of the fast and the "do it now!".

This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity. It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress. It means reestablishing family values, friends, free and leisure time. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous. It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living.

It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do. It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence of spirit.

In the movie, Scent of a Woman, there's a scene where Al Pacino asks a girl to dance and she replies, "I can't, my boyfriend will be here any minute now". To which Al responds, "A life is lived in an instant". Then they dance to a tango.

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious of living the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists. We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Congratulations for reading till the end of this message. There are many who will have stopped in the middle so as not to waste time in this globalized world.

Catch this video I uploaded . I manage to stumble on this video clip with the conversation before the dance. Its from THE SCENT OF A WOMAN . The conversation is so titilating. Al pacino is such a smooth talker , the body language prevails so much attraction and gist ,so enjoy the video.

This is glimpse of the music you get the feel when u are dancing tango. Truly Authentic.
